We will be featuring some of the amazing auction items that will be available to bid on at the event or in our online auction. We will also be highlighting a “Cloud Wine” of the week; a selection from our Cloud Wine chests that will be raffled off the night of the event. Look out for CloudBurst in your inbox.


Underwriting

As the Auction is the school's primary fundraiser, there are several ways you can participate. In addition to donating items and attending the Auction, you can help create a silver lining for Presidio Hill School and its students by making a gift to help underwrite Cloud 9. 

As you can imagine, offering an evening of fun and bidding in the clouds is costly, that is why we are asking for your support. All our underwriting levels offer recognition in the Auction Catalog and go far in helping us reach our goals

This year we have made it extremely easy to purchase tickets. Simply go to our registration page at https://presidio.ejoinme.org/registration and purchase your advance tickets for $50. It is that easy! If you would like to send in a check and spend the additional 44 cents on postage, you may also send back your invitation with a check using the pre-addressed envelope you have received with your invitation.


Online Auction

New to the Presidio Hill School auction this year, we will be having our first-ever Online Auction. Just go to www.biddingforgood.com/phs2011 and start bidding on Friday, March 11th at 8:00am PST. The Online Auction will be open until Sunday, March 20th, 11:00pm PST. It is easy to register to start your bidding. Just enter your name and credit card information. We encourage folks to refer friends, family and work colleagues to our online auction to open up the bidding to a wider audience. There is a “Refer Friends” tab on the Online Auction that you can click to easily refer all of your “closest friends”. At the end of the online auction, the bidder who has referred the most friends, using the “Refer Friends” tab, will receive 12 FREE Cloud Wine chest raffle tickets…..along with your FREE case of wine.


Proxy Bids

Are you out of town the night of the event? Don’t worry, you can still get in on the bidding action through our Proxy Bid program. Email auction@presidiohill.org for more information.

Auction Angels

Look for our helpful Auction Angels the night of the event. They will be there to answer all of your questions and assist you in any way possible.

 

Check In

This year, we are making it extremely easy to come to the auction and leave with all of the things you have won on Cloud 9. When you check in at the event, you will be asked to swipe a credit card to charge any items purchased or won. After you swipe your card, you will receive your bid number. It’s that easy!

 

Check Out

Once the event is over, you will find your clearly marked envelope and/or bag of items that were purchased and walk out the door. It is that easy!

Delivery of any large items will be coordinated the night of the event.

Also, if you purchased any Cloud Wine raffle tickets, you can pick up your free bottle(s) of wine on your way out.

 

Tasty Treats and Drinks Menu

What’s on the menu on Cloud 9? We will be passing champagne cocktails as well as a fabulous selection of wines. There will also be a cash bar for other cocktails. Our menu for the evening includes the following tasty treats:

Carving Station: Herb Crusted Prime Rib with horseradish creme fraiche, natural jus with dinner rolls.

Cheese Plate with a wide selection of gourmet cheeses and crackers

Passed hors' d'oeuvres

•Crostini with Eggplant, Roasted Peppers & Feta Cheese (vegetarian)

•French Fingerling Potato with Chive Creme Fraiche & some with Tobiko Caviar (potatoes room temp) (without caviar - vegetarian)

•Smoked Salmon Canapes with Lemon Cream Fraiche

•Chilled Prawns and Cocktail Sauce

•Sliced Beef on Crostini with Gorgonzola Mousse & Balsamic Reduction

Scrumptious selection of desserts generously donated by La Boulange


Silent Auction

The Silent Auction will be open from 6:30 to 8:00pm. All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets affixed nearby the item display.  The bidder must print his or her bid number and amount on the bid sheet. (You will receive a bid number at check in.)  A bid constitutes a binding agreement to buy the specified item. All bids must start with the minimum amount indicated on the bid sheet, and each bid increase must follow the minimum increment stated.  Bidding must stop when the Silent Auction section is declared closed.  At the close of the Silent Auction, an auction official will circle the highest bid. In addition, some Silent Auction items will have a “Guaranteed Purchase” price listed on the bid sheet.  If a bidder exercises this option, the section will close immediately.  In the event of a dispute, the Auction Committee shall have sole and final discretion in determining the winning bidder.

There will be some amazing items to bid on in the Silent Auction, including the popular Class Baskets, fabulous wine events, spectacular art, signed books, date night packages and more.

 

PHS Community Parties/Events

One of the most popular items in our Silent Auction are our PHS Community Party/Events. These are donated by PHS families as well as PHS Faculty & Staff. There will be two types of PHS Community Parties/Events included in the Silent Auction; fixed-priced tickets and biddable tickets.

Fixed Price Tickets

Parties/Events with fixed price tickets will have a fixed price with fixed number of tickets. These tickets will be awarded on a first-come,first-served basis.

  Biddable Tickets

Each competitively bid buy-in party will have a fixed number of winners. The bidding is in increments on the bid sheet and we will count back from the final bidder to get the fixed number of winners. The lowest bid of that set becomes the "clearing bid" that each person pays. That means that if you are in the winning group each person pays the lowest bid of that group, no matter what you bid.

Please note PHS Community Party/Event dates, which have already been scheduled. If a date has not been set, or is subject to change, there will be a clear note next to the PHS Community Party/Event description and sign up sheet.

 

Live Auction

Live Auction items may be viewed from 6:30 to 8:00pm, at which time the Live Auction will begin. All bidders must have a bid number (you will receive a bid number at check in). Bidders raise their bid paddles (provided at registration) to make bids. In the Live Auction, the purchaser is the highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer. Certain items may have a reserve price. In the event of a dispute, the Auctioneer will have sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the item in dispute. The decision of the Auctioneer will be final. The winning bidder should continue to hold his or her number aloft until the winning bid has been recorded.

 

Fund A Need

At the end of our Live Auction this year, Scott will be leading our Fund A Need bidding. This will give everyone an opportunity to raise their paddle to help support specific “needs”. By raising our paddles we can fund the little things that can help make Presidio Hill School Cloud 9 for our kids.

 

Cloud Wine Raffle

This year’s wine chest raffle, Cloud Wine, is an amazing selection of fabulous wines for the true wine connoisseur. Check our weekly CloudBurst emails for a full list of the wines in the Cloud Wine chest. Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase either 1 ticket for $75, 3 tickets for $200 or 12 tickets for $500. This year, every ticket purchased for the Cloud Wine raffle will automatically allow you to collect a FREE bottle of Trentatre, a red wine donated by Santini Fine Wines, upon check out the night of the event. That is right, if you purchase 12 raffle tickets you will receive a case of wine when you leave the Cloud 9 event on March 26th…and if you are lucky that night you might even walk out with a chest of an amazing collection of wine valued at $3,000 each. Email Hank Bannister to purchase tickets at hfbann@gmail.com or come to Friday coffee to purchase tickets from the wine committee. Don’t worry, we will be selling even more raffle tickets the night of the event.

 

First & Final Silent Bidder iPad Raffle

Be the “first” bidder for a Silent Auction item, or better yet, items, or be the “final” bidder…or better yet, be BOTH, and your name will be entered to win our final raffle drawing of the evening. By being the first and/or final bidders for our Silent Auction items you could be the lucky winner of an Apple iPad. Get to the event on time, and sign up for your auction items. Listen for the final call of the Silent Auction closing, and sign your name up again to be the final bidder, and you will win your auction item, and the chance to win an Apple iPad.

 

Class Art Projects

We have quite a collection of class art projects that have been led by some amazing parents and our Art Teacher, Gena. To view all of the projects please visit

Each Class Art Project will have a raffle drawing at the auction event on March 26th. You can purchase your raffle tickets in advance by contacting Renee Johnson at renee@q5d.net  or you may also purchase tickets the night of the event. You can purchase 1 ticket for $25 or a pack of 5 tickets for $100. The raffle drawing for each grade will be during the evening’s Live Auction. A huge thank you to all of the parents who have led these amazing art projects, the students who have produced the amazing art and Renee Johnson for organizing these amazing pieces of art.

 

Class Books

With all the amazing items at the auction, we have decided to postpone the unveiling and sale of the fabulous Class Book projects for our TK-5th grade classes. These books will be displayed and sold at May Fest this year. Look out for upcoming emails announcing the pre-sale and display of these wonderful keepsakes.
