Event FAQs

What is the Spring Fling?

Organized in conjunction with the PGA, the Spring Fling is our annual adults-only fundraising event. This evening event celebrates the philanthropic spirit of our community and is a great opportunity to connect with fellow PHS parents and guardians!

The theme of our 2022 Spring Fling is A Surrealist Soiree! in recognition of the very surreal times in which we are all living.

When is the event?

Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

Where is the event?

Presidio Golf Course, 300 Finley Road @ Arguello Gate, San Francisco

Map it!

Who is invited?

All Presidio Hill School parents and guardians, faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to attend.

How much are tickets?

Recognizing that every family at PHS is unique, and in wanting to offer greater access to the event, we are offering two ticket prices with the same level of inclusion and benefits. Choose either the $50 ticket or the $150 ticket, whatever is right for you.

What can I expect to experience at the event?

We invite you to join us for food, drinks, dancing, and a few surreal surprises. We’ll get started with a cocktail reception featuring the psychedelic surfer grooves from our live band, Farmer Dave & The Wizards of the West. We’ll invite you to Raise Your Paddle to support PHS. And then DJ Cole Odin will heat up the dance floor with tunes to get you moving.

What COVID safety precautions are you taking and what are the protocols for guests?

One of the primary reasons we chose the Presidio Golf Course was for its ability to provide us with an indoor/outdoor event venue and ample ventilation. The event will take place in the Golf Course Club House and adjacent tented patio. Doors will stay open during the event for  ventilation so please plan to bring an additional layer as it may be chilly. Guests are encouraged to wear their masks when not actively eating and drinking.

We ask that all guests be up-to-date on vaccination (including boosted), and have experienced no COVID-19 symptoms in the prior 14 days. Additionally, we encourage all guests to take a rapid test before heading to the party. We trust that all attendees will adhere to PHS’s social contract as we will not be checking vaccination status or rapid tests at the door. Event protocols are in line with SFDPH requirements.

What does this fundraiser support? Do I need to give again if I already gave to the Annual Fund?

Tickets purchased help us cover the cost of holding this event. You may also sponsor a teacher to attend or make a larger donation to help underwrite this event.

We invite our community to “raise your paddle” online (leading up to the event) and via text-to-give (at the event). Funds raised through our Fund-a-Need are separate from the Annual Fund; the Fund-a-Need supports a key initiative or project(s) at the school while the Annual Fund supports general operating. This year, we invite you to raise your (metaphorical) paddle to support Beautiful PHS. From greening and enriching our campus, to growing our gardening program and celebrating the visual arts, funds raised for Beautiful PHS will be used to improve the beauty of PHS, inside and out. We encourage families who are able to “raise their paddle” to do so at whatever level is most appropriate and meaningful to them.

Sounds fun! What do I wear?

Although Surrealist-inspired dress is not required, guests are highly encouraged to throw caution to the wind and indulge in the fantasy. Think fancy, fabulous and nonsensical; add glitter to a set of antlers, wear multiple masquerade masks at once, paint an extra set of lips on your cheek, put a birdcage in your hair, glue a clock to your top hat. Look to Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, or Lady Gaga to get you started. Or visit our Surrealist Mood Board for a little inspiration! And, if cocktail attire or jeans is more your vibe, come as you are! We look forward to connecting with you
